The department of Humanities and Applied Sciences is one of the key departments in the Institution as it grooms the students in their first year of study. The department comprises of faculty from four streams including Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and English (communication skills). The department comprises of highly qualified faculty members and technical staff and well equipped laboratories with advanced instruments.

The faculty of chemistry imparts theoretical as well as practical knowledge in the areas of applied chemistry and environmental studies to the students. The department also undertakes projects in the areas of developing green polymers, studies related to waste water treatment and other relevant areas of chemistry and environment management.

Since fundamental principles of Physics form the very basis of Engineering and Technology, the department aims at imparting the basic principles of physics besides enlightening the students with the emerging areas of technology.

The faculty of Mathematics ensures that that advanced mathematical concepts which would prove crucial in the learning of their respective engineering subjects are taught with utmost care.

The faculty of English ensures that overall development of students in terms of developing English language skills; communication skills, group discussion and presentation skills are nurtured in a manner that they can overcome any tough competition.

Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, the department ensures that there is no stone unturned in imparting the fundamental of science and humanities in the students to make them multi-talented engineers grounded in ethics and values.
